IN LOVING MEMORY

IGEL vom KIRSCHENTAL

Gentle Southern Breeze

The dawn arrived, a June-like day

A whisper through the trees

A clear blue sky with bright sunshine

A gentle southern breeze

It happened all too quickly

You never felt the pain

You were always by my side

Through the laughter and the rain

Your spirit never left you

You never even paled

Your happiness continued

Although your body failed

You dragged yourself across the yard

You could no longer stand

You met baby Isabel

You kissed her tiny hand

With broken heart I let you go

Your short life at its end

I wouldn’t change a single thing

For you were my best friend

Go on, my boy, run wild, run free

Wherever you may roam

On that gentle southern breeze

That came to take you home

Thank you, Igel, for all the love and memories

Run free, my baby boy

Love you always,

Mom
